Why am I here?

Hmm.. well, I had been wanting to write since the day I came here (Bombay.. somehow i dont like calling it "Mum"bai.. sounds wierd..) Ok, first the background.. I recently(2 weeks bk) joined SP Jain Institute of Management and Research.. phew! thats a loong name.. I am planning to specialise in Operations and Manufacturing (please dont ask me what that is!!).. so ever since that day.. rather ever since I started writing CAT (that was like way back in 2005) I have been wondering as to "why" an MBA.. ya I know it sounds like a typical B school interview question.. but its true.. however since I was involved in a "lot" of other activities back then, I never really bothered to find out the answer to this question.. But, to my surprise, this time I some how got a call from SPJIMR and literally "somehow" cleared the interview as well.. and then started the whole saga.. "WHY AM I HERE??"
I hear people talking about ET in class.. ya to me it is as bad as an extra terrestrial thing.. i dont think i'd ever be able to relate to it.. as the master says.. thinking about ET gives me the "hibidajibiz".. so you all can understand what I am going through.. When I am in class I think of the days when I used to get salary.. the days when I used to loiter around aimlessly on the green roads of RVCE.. the days when I had the confidence of clearing a Micro Processor exam, buying the text just a day before the exam.. even if you'd feel like studying, others "not" studying around you would give you an excuse not to read :) those were the days..
Coming to the present.. we have these quizes almost everyday.. I see people studying all day.. worrying about the quiz to be held the next day.. and then again the question.. "WHY AM I HERE??" hits me right in my face!
Anyways.. here I am.. learning how demand is affected by change in price.. why products come as 50% off and not buy one get one free.. you'd be surprised to know how much of analysis lies behind the concept.. and then you'd think do I really care??
ok i guess its tme for me to join the rat race and "try" reading something.. however the probability of that happening is quite low.. I will "try" posting on regular intervals.. in the mean time if you find an answer to my questions please feel free to get back to me.. bye for now..

Read "Fooled by Randomness" ..... MBA is all about generating analysis to back decisions that you take by heart (intuition) to give us a sense of control over things which in reality is not.

Hmmm.... quiet confusing! It really justifies my laziness in not even thinking about MBA ;-) BTW if you find the true meaning please do inspire me!
